I'm back!

Hi loves,

So recently you may have noticed I have been inactive from the blog and blogging world but my last major assignments have now been handed in which means my three years of university is now coming to an end.

However it does mean more time for blogging, which I cannot wait to get back into the blogging spirit!

New Revlon Lip Butters

left to right: Sorbet, Wild Watermelon, Pink Lemonade

Since Revlon released their lip butters last year I have been obsessed and will admit I own quite a few. So when they released four brand new shades a little while ago I could not help myself and made the most of Boots 3 for 2 offer. The new shades released are: Juicy Papaya, Pink Lemonade, Sorbet and Wild Watermelon which I will say are perfect for the summer.

Just like the other shades these lip butters are very moisturising and creamy, who needs Vaseline? Once applied these are also very glossy which bypasses the need for gloss. They are perfect for both day and night looks, especially the new shades. I can already see Sorbet becoming a firm favourite within my collection and have been sporting it daily for the week!

The packaging is just gorgeous and looks very high end and Chanel like, bonus. I like as well that each bullet is coloured according to the colour of the lipstick so you can gather an idea of the shade. I also think it makes it a lot easier when going through your makeup bag / case to find a lippie.

Sorbet is a gorgeous bright pink, which actually once applied doesn't look too bright but can be built so it's fab for a day to night transition colour. I wasn't sure how this would suit me, but since going darker I am loving those brighter shades more! I can see this being one of my go to colours for the summer, not only is the colour pay off great but so is the quality. My only main gripe with this is because it is so bright you have to check your lips so you aren't left with the pink line around your lips showing where the colour has gone from the main body.

Pink Lemonade I was in two minds about when buying, I wasn't sure if it would be too pale but once again it's one of those shades that will suit most. It's a gorgeous light pale pink which makes it perfect for everyday use, however because it is so pale the pigmentation isn't brilliant. If you apply it lightly it gives the tinted balm effect, so it does need to be layered for a true colour payoff. Saying that I do love this shade and will be great for days out.

Wild Watermelon is a gorgeous red that is not completely red if that makes sense. It's a very summery shade, with pink undertones which makes it a warmer shade of red. I think if you want to get into red lipsticks this is the one to go for, it gives you an idea of lighter reds and how they suit your skin tone and whether you could go further into the red family. This applies really easily and is yet again another transition shade which would be perfect to go from day to night.

Altogether these shades are fab, they are not only very wearable shades for the summer but they are also great quality lipsticks for the price. The pigmentation is fab with these products (except some of the lighter shades but that would be expected) and their creamy consistency means they are a dream to apply and are just so soft once on the lips.

The wear of these really does depend on the shade, the lighter shades I would say around 3 hours whereas the darker shades I have found are anywhere between 4-5 as long as you do blend the darkened line around your lips to replace the colour wear in the middle. These are one of the best lip products for the summer!

Have you tried any of the new shades out? What are your favourites?

Mac Archie's Girls Flatter Me Pearlmatte

 Mac Pearlmatte Powder £21.50

I've been such a naughty blogger of late, however if you are or have been a third year student with a dissertation to write you know how stressful that can get.

Anyways, a while ago I got my hands on the Flatter Me Pearlmatte powder from Mac's beautiful Archie's Girls collection. I only started using it a couple of weeks ago but has become one of my favourite blushers of all time!

What makes these products stand out so much is the gorgeous cartoon packaging, it's quirky but really cute. I love the fact that the Pearlmatte products come with a mirror inside the lid which is a big bonus for me, I love any face product with a mirror makes a great travel product. The cuteness doesn't stop there, inside the product is even cuter with the coloured hearts on the powder. Overall the blush is a golden peach with warm coral hearts which combined gives a soft coral shade with a golden frost finish. A perfect look which I will be sporting all summer.

However with this I do find that the coral hearts are hard to pick up when mixing on the pan, so you do mainly end up with the peach finish, but when applied this does look lovely and feels very soft. I think this would look great with a tan as it would emphasise your glow.

Staying powder is actually fab, I've been wearing this whilst on my internship and does a great job of lasting all day. So I would place staying time at between 6-8 hours which I think is great. It doesn't give too much colour to the cheeks but enough for a cute everyday look and because of this it makes it a great shade for everyone no matter the skin tone.

There is one added bonus with the Pearlmatte product and that is it's multi-use purpose, which means that this is not only a blush, but it works also as a highlighter and eyeshadow. However I think if you were to use it as an eyeshadow this would only really work as a base shade as it wouldn't pack much punch.

Despite the simple colour I think this is a staple piece in my collection purely because of it's simplicity. I love a colour that can be used for daytime looks but then be transformed for a night look. This would look fab with a bright lip and really help emphasise those bright pink shades just like the Betty Bright lipstick shade.

Unfortunately these are sold out on the Mac site so would have to check your local counters to see if they have any left.

Have you tried any of the Betty/Veronica products? Really wish I had got some Veronica ones now.

Happy Easter guys!
